Since the 1970's, Steven Schwen set out to live a more agrarian lifestyle. On his organic farm in Oak Center, Minnesota, he uses draft horses to plow his fields and eschews most of the modern conveniences others would likely consider basic necessities. In a separate video Schwen shows us his winter greenhouse that draws energy from the sun and through thermal banking, an environmentally efficient way to store energy for when it's needed. Being connected to the land, living within the cycles of nature and being sustainable to pass down to the next generation is his central ambition.
