Nearly six weeks after six members of the same family were found dead inside a Mechanicville apartment, investigators say they have determined that the children's mother and grandmother worked together to kill the four children before taking their own lives.
During a news conference Tuesday morning, Mechanicville Police Chief William Rabbitt said the medical examiner ruled the deaths of Harper, Hudson, Gavin and Grayson Harmon as homicides. The deaths of Amy Stedman and Sarah Myers were ruled suicides. Investigators say the evidence shows Stedman and Myers conspired to plan and carry out the killings. They said there is no evidence anyone else was involved.
Police said the investigation uncovered handwritten notes, electronic messages, surveillance video and internet search history that helped reconstruct what happened inside the apartment.
