From the port of Puerto Montt, Chile, we visited the Osorno Volcano, driving up to an incredible viewpoint of the Andes Mountains. We could see the active volcano Calbuco and it looked like it was puffing smoke! To get there, we drove by Lake Llanquihu (Yank-Key-Way) with gorgeous views of Osorno. After trying kuchen in the mountain's shadow, we visited Petrohue (Petro-Way) Waterfalls of the Petrohue River which flows between crystallised (crystallized) lava. There are so many amazing viewpoints and a Lover's Trail that we explore. We enjoyed lunch, again with stunning views of Osorno, at Yankee Way Lodge (a takeoff of the lake's name). To end our time in Puerto Montt, we walked around the tourist town of Puerto Varas, known as the City of Roses, and enjoyed some ice cream.

The volcano, with its glacial peak, is breathtaking and I'd never seen a river that runs through old lava. It was gorgeous and had Osorno in the background. What a fantastic day!
