Right now, 60 orangutans are being cared for at YIARI’s rehabilitation center. That number represents every single orangutan still waiting for their chance to go home to the forest.
Take Kenaya, for example.
When the Ministry of Forestry found her in 2019, she was being kept as a pet in a small, remote village.
She’s now safe in the care of our partners at YIARI, learning how to be wild again. With the right food, medical care, and patient rehabilitation, she’ll one day be ready to return to the trees where she belongs.
This Orangutan Caring Week, we’re asking you to help Kenaya and others like her.
When you adopt an orangutan, you’re helping provide the daily care they need to heal, grow strong, and get back to the wild.
