I’ve never really had much of an interest in Valley Vista’s equipment, however with their purchases of many used trucks lately and considering they are still running the diesel FF Gomez ASL my interest has yet again been sparked. The day after Christmas of last year I headed out to El Monte to see what I could find. I knew they used to run a Curotto Can many years back, but I assumed that it had gotten retired as did most of their trucks from that time. I believe this is now their only operational Curotto Can, which I followed out of the yard to a heavy trash route about 20 minutes away. Not only are Curotto Cans themselves uncommon in the Los Angeles area, but one on as old of a chassis as this made this find even more cool. Hard to believe this truck is almost 20 years old... I’ve always had a thing for older diesel CCCs so this was definitely a solid find in my book.
