In 2016, San Bernardino requested that Burrtec hold free monthly disposal and bulk waste drop-off events at select locations around the city. It just so happened that the night before the October monthly cleanup, I stumbled across this video youtube.com/watch?v=BGIIld081xA.
Inspired by all the old trucks they were using, I made my way out to San Bernardino the very next morning. That day they were using 2 new Autocar McNeilus's that had just been transferred over to them from the City of San Bernardino (as Burrtec is now the official contracted waste hauler for the city).
As you may notice, people are practically bringing the crap that has been stored in their backyards for decades - by the ton on either truck or trailer. There was easily a line of 200 or more trucks circled around the park still waiting in line by the time I left.
San Bernardino has since stopped holding these events as they were getting extremely expensive to run. Just think of all the people who saw this as an opportunity to clear out their junkyards of decades' worth of junk.
Also, this is only about half the footage I got. I used 2 different cameras as my phone ran out of battery (why you will hear a difference in audio) Let me know which truck was your favorite in the comments.
