I've been kindly sent an xmas decoration by PCBWay. It's a RGB strobing PCB in the shape of a tree, powered by a CR2032 and using copper layers for the tinsel.
The design, by Salvatore Raccardi, uses RGB auto-flashing LEDs which don't require current-limiting resistors.
They are, however, very bright and do drain the CR2032 very quickly, so I wondered if hacking in a series resistor would improve things.
This did seem to help with the brightness, but I noticed few blue and green flashes with an 820 Ohm resistor in line. Dropping this helped, but perhaps there's an internal resistance to each of these with which we're now creating a voltage divider and possibly messing up the forward voltage for the Blue and Green LEDs?
See what you think.

![[B-Roll] Investigating DSTB1 AltRAM issues on the STFM
Introducing the B-Roll series.
Ive not a lot of time of late to work on any projects and to produce videos, so to keep in touch Ive started a new series of non-narrative videos that Im going to call B-Roll.
This is the sort of thing larger channels would have a second channel for. Less edited, less produced, probably no conclusion. More behind-the-scenes, stream of conciousness type output to show what Im working on and how without necessarily telling a story.
Feel free to go big on the thumbs down if this is not something you want more of, else expect more of these than main videos for the time being.

Today Im trying to work out whats wrong with my DSTB1. Im working on a new SDRAM driver in the firmware and getting nowhere. I then realise my booster seems to be unpredictably unreliable in release configuration having worked beautifully in the past.
What gives?
