Port Jackson sharks are friendly, small sharks known colloquially as "the puppy dogs of the ocean".They're bottom feeders, they munch shells and they certainly don't go around tearing things up. The species is harmless to humans and can be found in waters around southern Australia, and are regularly spotted along Adelaide’s metropolitan beaches. A top spot to see them is Port Noarlunga Reef in Encounter Marine Park usually in about November each year when they congregate here to breed.
Noarlunga reef is an easily accessible dive site close to Adelaide.
