This dive was done off the Aliwal Shoal along the Kwazulu-Natal coast of South Africa.
Oceanic Blacktips are stout bodied, medium sized sharks that grow to about 2.5m in length. They typically feed on smaller sharks, rays, cuttlefish, lobster and bottom fish. They are easily enticed in by baiting and are the main attraction for the regular baited dives like this dive. The Oceanic Blacktip shark is an extremely fast, energetic predator that is usually found in groups of varying sizes.
This is a nice shark dive in addition to the ragged-toothed shark dives on the reef in this area.
