The 2024 Public Safety Department Plan was released on February 29th, and shows that Public Safety will not be in a position to launch the buyback/confiscation of individuals' firearms in the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Instead, it clarifies that the government will be merely launching the buyback/confiscation of business' firearms in 2024, likely in an attempt to bolster compliance rates and give the appearance of some progress before the next election.
