In a Labour Day long weekend announcement on public safety, Erin O'Toole clarified his stance on Canadian gun bans thusly. He continued; saying that he will take the politics out of guns, and undertake a clear and transparent classification review process.
Whether or not this means the Conservatives would retain Justin Trudeau's so-called assault weapon ban in the long term is currently unclear, and Mr. O'Toole will surely face questions just like that in the coming days, and of course, at the debates where gun violence is expected to be a hot topic.
