#NewMusicFriday: On 26th November 2021, the world of theatre lost the legendary composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim. He wrote countless beautiful tunes and amongst them ‘No One Is Alone’ is my favourite. I first heard this song in the 2014 film Into the Woods, which is adapted from his musical in 1987. His works have inspired generations of theatre creatives and performers. To pay tribute to him, Nicola and Allie have come together to perform one of his best songs, and they have written a few words about what this song and his music mean to them:

Musicals like “Into the Woods” inspired me to pursue performance, and I am forever thankful for the influences his work left on my life and the entire theatre community 🤍’ – Allie
‘Sondheim to me was one of the greatest lyricists and still is to this day. His music is so beautiful, and this song is one of my favourite songs to sing of his. The melody and lyrics to this song is so beautiful, majority of the time I cry whilst listening to it 🥺 but I am so happy and grateful to be able to sing this with Allie, in memory of him 🤍’ – Nicola
