On 24th September 1978 – 44 years ago yesterday – this song peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100. More than four decades later, Grease is still loved by many and is currently running in the West End. On 8th August, we heard the devastating news of Dame Olivia Newton-John’s passing. She graced the world with her music, kindness and positivity. We’ve lost one of the most talented and kindest people on earth. We dedicate our 101st video to this beautiful star because we honestly love her.
‘As someone who grew up with musical theatre, Grease was one of my absolute favourite films of all time and Sandy a dream role. I was on the plane when I heard about Olivia Newton-John’s passing and remember a feeling of shock came over me as I realised someone who I had idolised was no longer with us, but I think it is important to remember everything she gave us and celebrate her legacy and that is what I have tried to do here, of course I will never reach her level of brilliance but I am thankful for the opportunity to show how much she meant to the community with one of my favourite songs xx’ — Matilda
