It’s been two years since the very first solo video of this series, which happened to be Nicola’s very first video. She’s done many amazing ones since and she’s back this week with a solo performance. If you still remember, her first solo video was ‘Home’ from Beetlejuice, in which Lydia sings about her mum. This time we have a song about Dad, and we’ve decided to release it today since it’s Father’s Day. The song titled ‘Dear Daddy’ is from the musical W2ML (Welcome to My Life). It’s a very poignant song. Nicola has written a few words about her latest video:
‘I cannot believe it’s been just over two years since my first video with @loveofmusicals!! This song has a very special place in my heart – I first heard my big sister sing it at a showcase back when I was around 8 years old. I’ve always followed in her footsteps and actually started to do musical theatre all because of her. I learnt this song back in lockdown and it’s been one of my favourite songs to sing since. The lyrics are so beautiful and Bobby Cronin, who wrote the song, is one of my favourite composers. I really hope you enjoy this song and happy Father’s Day to all of the amazing father figures out there! 🤍’
