Something a bit different this Friday... Over the past few months, there have been a lot new followers from outside the UK. Many of them are from the US. I thought it’d be a great idea to talk about the differences in the English language and culture. So I invited Lily-Mae and Allie to represent their own countries. We talked about a lot of things from food, clothes to something that brought us together — theatre. In this video, not only will you find out different terminology for everyday words, you’ll also learn more about the theatre world in both countries. (You will see Allie show off her Beetlejuice playbill and programme!) And you certainly don’t want to miss their accent swap!
We had a jolly long chat that evening, which lasted for about two hours. This is the highlight of what we talked about. There are other funny out-takes like when Lily-Mae says we have £100 notes and Allie calls Leicester ‘Lie-SES-ter’. Who knows? I might release more of the recording. Oh right, I was there too (that’s why they’re occasionally looking at me for some ‘directions’), but I’m definitely not showing you the bit where I was forced to do an American accent!
