In the original game, it felt like every corner of this stage was jam packed with enemies. This was essentially the gauntlet where they threw everything at you. In Sigma, they probably cut at least 75% of the enemies out of this stage and added in a couple of fights with the Tengu bosses. Honestly, without comparing it to the original and just taking this on its own, I think it's fine as is. You move through the stage at a good pace, they mix up the fights pretty well (starting slow with fiend dogs, and getting more aggressive bit by bit), and it doesn't take very long to finish (30 minutes, including cutscenes, is still on the higher end of the Sigma spectrum). If you do want to compare it to the original, though, this is practically a ghost town and not nearly as fun. At this point in the game, Ryu's nearly at max strength, between his HP, ki, and arsenal, so it makes total sense for them to throw a small army of the strongest enemies at you. This way is 'fine', but the original is PEAK.

Still, it's a cool chapter. It ends with a fight to the death on the edge of an active volcano ffs.

Edit: This is version 1.0.6 - i.e. basically the release version of the game. Right after I posted this video, Team Ninja released the version 1.0.7 patch, which, among other things, increases the amount of enemies in this stage. I'll have to do that in my next NG+/CC run. I'm interested in seeing if they have any more updates planned!
