DPCcars | New 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed Coupe in Magenta @DPCcars | Uploaded 3 weeks ago | Updated 1 day ago
Bentley has unveiled the updated versions of the Continental GT and GTC Speed, introducing a hybrid V-8 powertrain that delivers an impressive 779 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. This new system makes the hybrid Continental GT Speed the most powerful Bentley ever produced, with a top speed of 208 miles per hour, just like the previous model.
The hybrid system is similar to other Volkswagen Group high-performance plug-in hybrids, such as the Porsche Panamera, Cayenne Turbo, and Lamborghini Urus SE. It features a 25.9 kilowatt-hour battery positioned at the rear, which powers an electric motor nestled between a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
On its own, the electric motor produces 187.4 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, providing additional power at low engine speeds and making gear shifts smoother. The motor can also operate independently of the V-8, allowing the car to travel up to 87 miles per hour using only electric power. The range is approximately 50 miles under the European WLTP test.
The twin-turbocharged V-8 engine has been enhanced with new turbochargers and a more efficient fuel injection system, generating 592 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque on its own. The combined system torque output is slightly lower due to different peak points for the motor and engine.
Visually, Bentley has refined the exterior design of the Continental GT, including new single headlamps and intricately detailed taillights. Inside, it retains the luxurious interior Bentley is known for. Handling improvements include updated twin-valve dampers, a rear-biased weight distribution, and rear-wheel steering.
Production is set to begin in the third quarter of this year, promising that the new hybrid Continental GT Speed will deliver the exceptional performance Bentley enthusiasts expect.
