The fourth-generation BMW X3 has introduced a range of exciting updates, and the 20 xDrive model is one of the standout versions of this popular mid-size luxury SUV. With a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine under the hood, the 20 xDrive produces a respectable 190 horsepower. However, the real game-changer is the inclusion of a mild-hybrid system. This electric motor adds an additional 18 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque, bringing the combined output to 208 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque. The mild-hybrid system not only boosts performance but also enhances fuel efficiency and reduces emissions, making it a more eco-friendly choice.

The mild-hybrid system works seamlessly with BMW's well-regarded eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. It ensures smooth acceleration and responsive handling, with a 0-60 miles per hour time of 7.8 seconds and a top speed of 134 miles per hour. Plus, the battery for the hybrid system charges itself during deceleration or by using excess torque from the gasoline engine, so drivers do not need to worry about plugging it in.

Inside, the X3 20 xDrive offers a high-quality, tech-filled cabin with ample space for both passengers and cargo. The 14.9-inch infotainment system features cable-free Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and BMW's latest over-the-air update capability ensures that the software stays current. The minimalistic design and premium materials provide a modern and luxurious feel, though there is still room for improvement, like adding padding to the center tunnel for more comfort during long drives.

With its mild-hybrid powertrain and thoughtful design updates, the BMW X3 20 xDrive strikes an excellent balance between performance, efficiency, and luxury, continuing the legacy of BMW's best-selling SUV.
