"SHE WAS A WONDERFUL MOTHER." Besides Lindsay Clancy and her husband, the person with the most intimate knowledge of what life was like in their household leading up to her children's deaths was the family's nanny, Elaine Rossi.
On the witness stand Wednesday, Rossi said Lindsay opened up to her about the mental health struggles she was battling, but never mentioned anything about harming herself or having intrusive thoughts about harming her kids.
During questioning, Rossi repeatedly told prosecutor Shanan Buckingham and defense attorney Kevin Reddington that the Lindsay Clancy she knew and loved was a "wonderful" mom, intensely devoted to and protective of her kids.
Rossi's testimony capped an abbreviated day of court. Earlier in the day, a toxicologist testified about the levels of psychiatric drugs found in Clancy's system at the time of the killings, saying most were at or below prescribed levels.
Notably, however, the expert testified an anti-psychotic and sleep aid medicine Clancy was taking was found at a level about twice what he'd expect based on her prescription, but not a lethal amount.
