Let's paint an old, gnarly tree in a mystical forest. We're going to paint simple trees on our misty background, get lost while making little branches and highlighting tree bark. This is a simple zen painting for beginners or more experienced artists!

I’m painting on a 12x16-inch stretched canvas, but you can paint on any type and size of canvas you like.
I used:
• #12 cloud brush
• A 1/2-inch flat brush
• 5/8-in angle brush
• #6 filbert
• Long liner brush

I’m using Liquitex Basics acrylic paint in the following colors:
• Gesso (optional)
• Titanium White
• Mars Black
• Deep Violet
• Cadmium Yellow Medium
• Burnt Umber
But you can use any colors you like.
