Let's paint a cute, little Charlie Brown-type Christmas tree on a bokeh light background! When we're done, I'm going to show you how to install battery-powered lights on a canvas, and how to keep them from falling back out again. This is a super fun project for the whole family!

I’m painting on a 12x16-inch stretched canvas, but you can paint on any type and size of canvas you like.

Check out the affiliate links page on my website for a full list of materials I use an recommend. If you make a purchase through those links, I may get a little bit of a commission which helps me continue to provide free painting tutorials for you. Yay! paintingwithjane.com/affiliate-links

I used:
• A 1-inch flat brush
• A large, soft filbert
• A1/2-inch flat brush
• #8 filbert and bright
• 1/2-inch angle brush
• #3 round
All brushes available on my website at paintingwithjane.com/brushes

Materials needed for lights:
• 1 strand of 10 battery-powered lights
• A razor blade or something sharp to make holes in the canvas
• Texture gel or Mod-Podge
• Tape

I’m using Liquitex acrylic paint in the following colors:
• Mars Black
• Titanium White
• Cobalt Blue (optional, any blue will work)
• Burnt Umber
• Cadmium Yellow Light (any yellow will work)
• Quinacridone Magenta
• Phthalocyanine Blue
But you can use any colors you like.
