Found a tuning wand in one of my alignment kits. I haven't seen one of these in a long time and forgot how to use it. With trial and error, I was able to halfway figure it out.
Turning the coil clockwise (inward) increased the inductance and tuned it to a lower frequency. Turning the coil counterclockwise (outward) decreased the inductance and tuned the coil to a higher frequency. If the meter indication increases when you insert the iron end, the coil needs needs to be turned inward, increasing the inductance (decreasing frequency). Contrariwise, if the meter indication increases when you insert the brass end, the coil needs to be turned outward, decreasing the inductance, but increasing the frequency.
