Tonight, we’re rewinding the clock and celebrating Halloween the old-fashioned way — with a touch of whimsy, a pinch of thrift, and a hearty dose of sustainability. ✨
In this episode, I’m hosting A Very Vintage Halloween Soirée — think those cosy, vintage Halloween illustrations, flickering candlelight, homemade treats, and decorations that don’t cost the earth (or end up in landfill).
We’ll be:
🕯️ Decorating the home with timeless, reusable pieces (pumpkin bunting, paper pumpkins & retro trinkets)
🎃 Carving a pumpkin — and using every single part sustainably!
🥚 Making delightfully devilish eggs to go with our spooky-named and retro snack theme.
🍎 Setting up classic, budget-friendly games (apple bobbing, spooky Cluedo, even a dolls house mystery!)
🕰️ Hosting “Mystery at Spellman Manor” — a homemade parlour game inspired by vintage Halloween broadcasts - 👻 Great idea for kids! 👻
There’s just something quietly rebellious about stepping away from modern Halloween excess and creating something simple, nostalgic, and rather enchanted instead.
