Do the USB and XLR outputs of the MV7+ sound the same? Does the USB sound bad? Listen to both outputs in this comparison video and let me know which you prefer.
I've seen a few videos and read some comments that people don't think the USB output of the MV7+ sounds good. That hasn't been my experience with this microphone and so I made this test to put the two outputs side by side to get a better idea of how they compare.
What I'm hearing is slightly different but only slightly. The XLR output is brighter and less compressed whereas it sounds like the USB output is darker which ironically sounds close to the SM7B than the XLR output. The SM7B is a dark mic and often needs processing to make it sound its best (IMO). I think the same goes for the USB output of the MV7 Plus.
