Join us for the release of pop song Seasons Change, written by 73 students who attend Music Education Islington music centres, in response to climate change and Sir David Attenborough’s 2020 New Year’s message.
The students, with the help of their teacher Fliss Gorst, have written lyrics inspired by Attenborough’s speech, as well as their own orchestral and choral contributions and rapping and singing, which can be heard on the track. All the recordings were made by the children from home, using a click track, as well as the artwork which can be seen in the music video, inspired by the children's feelings around climate change.
With thanks to Fliss Gorst (Seasons Change Project Lead) and Spencer Down (MEI Creative Director) for making this happen and to Sir David Attenborough, for taking the time to reply to two of the students letters.
All those involved with Seasons Change would like to encourage donations to the World Land Trust’s Action Fund, which Attenborough is a patron for. Please visit the JustGiving page for more information and to donate.
Performed by students of Music Education Islington Music Centres
Written/Produced by Fliss Gorst
