The V11 Sport Rosso Mandello is the motorcycle presented by Moto Guzzi in 2001 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Mandello del Lario company. It differs aesthetically from the other versions of the V11, all equipped with the classic V-twin engine, with its carbon fairing and front mudguard, valve cover and subframe onto which the red anodized footpegs are attached. Another difference is the clutch which is a sintered single disc instead of the usual two disc clutch of the other versions. It is a limited series of 300 numbered examples and easily recognizable by a number engraved on the sides of the motorbike. Given the success, a second unnumbered series was also made which has a small tricolor instead of the engraved number. The quantity of the specimens of the second series is unknown: they are also said to be 300 or perhaps less. Mechanically it has no particular differences from other versions of the V11, the engine is air-cooled and delivers 91 HP at 7800 rpm with a torque of 94 Nm at 6000 rpm. The braking system supplied by Brembo is with double disc at the front and single at the rear, the suspension features a classic 40mm diameter upside-down fork and a monoshock at the rear. The 6-speed gearbox is coupled with a universal joint final transmission, a classic solution from the Como company.
