The Moto Guzzi GT 17 was an Italian military motorcycle produced from 1932 to 1939. The Mototriciclo Guzzi 32 was created based on this model. The GT 17 was the first military motorcycle expressly built by the Mandello company, which had previously supplied the Royal Army with only a small batch of GT 16 with some small adaptations, which in turn had an engine and chassis derived from the Sport 15. Very robust, with a 500 cc opposed valve engine, three-speed gearbox and an elastic chassis (hence the acronym GT, "Gran Turismo"). It was delivered in single and two-seater versions with adjustable suspension. Some models were equipped with a submachine gun or heavy machine gun, as well as other equipment (roof racks, boxes) depending on the department of destination. Widely used by the Royal Army starting from the Ethiopian war, many examples were also delivered to the Road Militia. In 1939 it was replaced by the Moto Guzzi GT 20.
