Description for “Moses’ Creation Story predicts Christ’s Resurrection”. Peter Helland continues his support for Jesus’ and the apostle’s teaching of creation in six literal days and therefore an earth younger than 8 thousand years. Jesus over and over again said scripture, from the law of Moses, the psalms and the prophets predicted he would rise from the dead on the third day after his death. None of his followers believed Him. It seems they misunderstood what he meant. Apparently they could not believe He meant it literally. His literal death so traumatized them that they had no hope in a literal understanding of what He said.
Moses wrote in chapter one of Genesis that God commanded the trees to come up out of the ground on the third day. Again in chapter two it repeats that God commanded trees to come up out of the ground. This included the Tree of Life. In chapter 3 Moses wrote that whoever ate of the tree of life would live forever. This is obviously referring to Jesus who said that whoever ate of His flesh and drank of His blood would have eternal life. As Jesus did rise on a literal 3rd day so also Jesus did create the world in 6 literal days. This prediction laid out in the first three chapters of Genesis begins the fulfillment of the very many predictions in the Old Testament for a third day resurrection of the Messiah. This also helps lay a foundation for how to interpret Moses’ 6 day creation story.
Further clues for believing with Jesus in a six day creation account are the Nicene
and Apostle’s Creeds. The Apostle Creed in article one states: “I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.” The Nicene Creed adds: “Lord Jesus Christ......rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.”
