People often think of contraceptive hormones as only affecting our reproductive organs as they reduce fertility. But that’s a huge oversimplification and is wrong.
Our gonads (the ovaries) are the primary place that natural hormones are produced. But hormones influence every organ in our body, including our brain, heart, bones, immune system and skin.
The synthetic hormones in all contraceptives block the action of our natural hormones working and the studies have never been done to assess their effects on the other organs of the body - which is really shocking and worrying actually.
