The Twin Cities summer of Severe Weather continues with yet another tornado warning for the metro area. This one produced a confirmed tornado over Dayton, MN, about 20 miles northwest of downtown Minneapolis.
While the northern suburbs were rocked with the tornado warning, the downtown areas of Mpls and St. Paul, and its western, southern and eastern suburbs were slammed with a Severe Thunderstorm that brought a good amount of straight line wind damage with it.
Damage reports started coming in as early as 4pm with hail as thick as 3 to 4 inches diameter hail having been reported in the northwest metro.
