Another magnificent aerobatic display team show by the russian Swifts (Стрижи or Strizhi Aerobatic Team), back at MAKS 2019, performing some maneuvers just straight above of my head!
This was the show on the August 31st.
The team usually performs at MAKS and other airshows doing formation flight aerobatics for which they are renowned worldwide.

The Swifts (Russian: Стрижи, Strizhi) are a Soviet and later Russian aerobatic demonstration team connected with the Russian Air Force.
The formation of a group of military pilots who perfectly mastered the technique of aerobatics for demonstration flights on MiG-29 aircraft began in the fighter air regiment in Kubinka in the mid-1980s, when aircraft of this type were only being flown by the Air Force.
The official "birth" of the aerobatic team was on May 6, 1991, when they first performed an aerial display under their current name on the MiG-29 fighters in their original white and blue coloring. After that, Aviation Marshal Ivan Nikitovich Kozhedub personally presented the medals to the pilots of the group "For Strengthening the Military Commonwealth Between the States."
In October 1991, "Strizhi" performed abroad for the first time; a group of fighters from Kubinka paid a visit to the Uppsala airbase in Sweden. The first public foreign premiere of "Strizhi" was held in May 1992 in France though, at an air festival dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Normandie-Niemen squadron. The group impressed the Western audience with their skill. The aircraft formations were constantly changing - shifting from an arrow to a cross, pyramid, wing, star, etc. The performance ended with a spectacular formation break which was accompanied by a hail of flares.
In 1993, the Strizhi team also became participants in the LIMA'93 air show on Langkawi Island in Malaysia, as well as in air festivals in Belgium and Thailand, and at the exhibition in Thailand the group's aviation specialists set a speed record of aircraft assembly: 4 MiG-29s arrived there disassembled inside an An-124 Ruslan transport plane and the Russian technicians and mechanics managed to get them into operational status in just 3 days. This same year, the team was awarded the title "Best aerobatic team of the world".
In 1995, "Swifts" again visited Sweden, in 1997 they visited Finland.
Since 1991 the group "Swifts" has annually conducted 50 shows. The pilots have visited more than 28 foreign countries.

As usual, Юрий Ващук (Yuriy Vaschuk) is at the controls showcasing his unparalleled skill with this fighter aircraft. These videos were shot at MAKS 2017 at Gromov Flight Research Institute in Zhukovskiy, Moscow in 2017, but back then I didnt have the editing means that I do nowadays in terms of software (DaVinci Resolve) and graphics card, so I decided to revisit a number of older videos to improve the color grading and add stabilization and sharpening. The Sukhoi Su-35 (Сухой Су-35; NATO reporting name: Flanker-E) is the designation for two separate, heavily-upgraded derivatives of the Su-27 air-defence fighter. They are twin-engine, single-seater, highly-maneuverable fighter aircraft, designed by the Sukhoi Design Bureau and built by the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Production Association.
The first variant was designed during the 1980s as an upgrade of the Su-27, and was initially known as the Su-27M. This derivative made use of canards and had a multi-function radar that transformed the aircraft into a multi-role fighter jet. It was also structurally reinforced to support its heavier weight. The first prototype made its maiden flight in June 1988. The aircraft did not enter mass production at the time due to the collapse of the Soviet Union and therefore Sukhoi re-designated the aircraft later on as Su-35 to attract export orders. At the same time, the fourteen aircraft initially produced were used for tests and exhibitions; one example had thrust-vectoring engines installed, and the resultant Su-37 was used as a technology demonstrator. A sole two-seat trainer was also built in the late 1990s under the designation SU-35UB that strongly resembled the Su-30MK family.
In 2003, Sukhoi embarked on a second modernization of the Su-35 to serve as an interim aircraft awaiting the development of the Sukhoi PAK-FA (Su-57, previously T-50) program. Also known as Su-35, this derivative had a redesigned and highly modernized cockpit as well as an improved weapons-control system, it also featured thrust-vectoring engines (AL-41F1S, formerly AL-117S) in place of the omitted canards. The airbrake was gone and it used aerodynamic rudder brakes. The type made its first flight in February 2008. Although the aircraft was designed for export, the Russian Air Force in 2009 became the launch customer of the aircraft, the production version of which is the currently designated Su-35S. Chinas Peoples Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) is the sole foreign customer of the aircraft so far but other countries are reportedly in discussions with Russia about the possible purchase of the Su-35, among which is Indonesia, whose government is expected to sign a contract in the near future.
