Currently employing over 12,500 people, the Mercedes-Benz factory in Bremen is functioning at close to capacity. Plans call for output volume to increase going forward. The extra working hours will be necessary to handle the increasing volume. 500 men and women will also get new work at the Bremen factory. Additionally, between 2017 and 2023, the center will raise the number of trainees it accepts each year to 150 in order to maintain a steady supply of new talent. The firm is spending over €1 million on a cutting-edge training program that will also get workers ready for emerging technologies like the digitization of production processes linked to the "smart factory" and the digital transformation.
In 2014, the Bremen Mercedes-Benz factory produced over 340,000 automobiles. The factory presently produces eight different vehicles, including the C-Class, which is Mercedes-highest-volume Benz's model series. Two more versions will be delivered to Bremen during the coming several years. According to Andreas Kellermann, the plant manager of the Mercedes-Benz factory in Bremen, "We are methodically preparing Bremen for the future." "Our strategy will maintain Bremen's operations and the employment of its staff for many years to come. Additionally, it will support Bremen's position as the world's top C-Class production facility.
Since 2014, the C-Class has been made with the same degree of Mercedes excellence in four different sites across four different continents: Bremen; East London, South Africa; Beijing, China; and Tuscaloosa, Alabama (USA).
