The MMC5983MA’s anisotropic magneto-resistive (AMR) sensors …
↓↓↓ Complete description, time index and links below ↓↓↓
In the previous videos we did basic magnetic field and temperature measurements (links below). Before we go any further we need a deeper understanding of the AMR Wheatstone bridge sensors, the chip is using to measure magnetic fields.
But first we write some code to get proper signed Gauss values for the measured magnetic field. Then we’re off to a deep dive into anisotropic magneto-resistance (AMR), magnetized AMR sensors and Wheatstone AMR bridges.
00:00 Intro – time to dive deep into MMC5983MA’s internals
01:10 Signed and Gauss values – of magnetic field strength
11:31 Anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) – principle
17:55 Magnetized AMR sensors – making AMR directional
22:55 AMR Wheatstone bridges – low noise & voltage output
29:05 Set and reset operation – flipping magnetization around
35:16 Wrap-up – next time it’s back to coding, bye
