Playthrough | Part 2: Reprieve and Trouble
After a bit of an encounter, Neptune along with Nepgear decide to work with Uzume with her situation.
They return to Uzume's Hideout for a bit of a reprieve. It's also here we learn that Uzume is a CPU but since this world is near destruction, she doesn't have shares. Instead, she uses Share Crystals to transform into her HDD form, Orange Heart. But Share Crystals are scarce meaning that she has to use them sparingly. They get a bit of a reprieve but then it's back to work.
The next part begins and the three decide to look about. It's here Uzume talks to an ally of hers. He says that the Baby Bugs found a Share Crystal so they got to work to find it. This has us heading to Nameless Ruins for a bit of patrolling. After the patrol, they get word that Umio is holding the monsters at bay in Coral Station. So we go there, explore and find Umio. All the while, Nepgear tries to figure out the origins of this world.
Eventually, they find a posse of Baby Bugs and Dogoos. Since this world has no humans, monster reside in this world. They learn that Umio distracted the monster so they hurry to help him. It's here that the battle against Uniceldos teaches us another new gimmick: the Formation and Coupling Skills. In this case, it's Formation Skills and it requires you to have your party at a certain way. Once you have the EXE drive at level 1, you should perform a Formation Skill. It also can cause a Parts Break, meaning if you break parts, you'll get more rewards.
Once the monster is beaten, Neptune and Nepgear meet Umio. They learn the truth that he's a fish. Yes, seriously. I got no words. Also, Uzume's other personality starts to kick in. But we got another fight to go against and it's a Giga Slaymon. Just keep on attacking and it's over. That simple. After the fight, they return back to the hideout to celebrate. The next day, Neptune wants pudding so now they got to work to get ingredients.
