It just so happens that hitting two solo home runs is exactly what it takes to clear Jr encounters on Star difficulty. If you can do that, why wouldn't you? No match setup, fewer loading screens, no useless bottoms of the inning...
But take note! If you perform Team Swap but encounter Bowser Jr. *before* entering a full match if baseball, the glitch is cancelled and you get your true captain's actual team. That's one of the reasons I enter into and forfeit a match rather than go straight to Jr- the other is that I need to move the Bros earlier up in the batting order so that they have a chance to play at all.
The true endgame for this category is to get the bases empty scenario (which is a 25% chance that can't be manipulated), then get two solo home runs off of Jr's first pitches, which are ideally curveballs. I don't want to grind for that right now, but probably will in the future... at some point.
