(In the video, my final split was 6 seconds late. You're supposed to split when you get the last out in the Bowser match- 1:25:11 is the correct time.)
I'm stunned. This run went as well as I could ever ask for. I'm so, so happy. I'm going to be focusing my attention away from Yoshi for a while- I did not even for a moment think I would get a run this satisfying so soon.
Here's my overall impression of how things went.
What went well:
Everything.
All minigames and the Bowser Jr. match were first try.
I finished in 5 games, the minimum number of matches.
Got two solid Mercy Rules- 4th inning of DK (which was lengthened just a bit to ensure Yoshi MVP) and 4th inning of Bowser (which was also a shutout!)
Every single goal was on time. I went into Bowser with EXACTLY one goal unfinished- Birdo MVP in Last Game.
Birdo MVP manipulation in Bowser was smooth sailing.
What went wrong:
I forgot to buy Yoshi and Birdo's power-ups before Peach. This lost maybe 10 seconds total of time because I planned to go back to the shop for powerups anyway, but it was also really funny.
What was alright but could have gone better:
I definitely COULD have tried to end Peach sooner if I got Shy Guy's 5th strikeout faster- as it happens, I got it on the 3rd out of the 5th inning while I had a lead... which is the last possible moment before I'd have to start allowing runs...
Better Tongue Catch manip and an earlier Birdo Home Run could have made Wario smoother, I guess?
I don't have a whole lot else to say- I think the run speaks for itself. I am moving the HECK on to DK next.
