Right on! Not the category-killer I'm after, but a solid example of what this run should look like. I'm only a Grumpy Cat because Bowser literally killed me.
All minigames first try, with extraordinary RNG generosity from the game from start to finish. I'm not gonna get used to them being this friendly :P
Mario was 2nd inning and finished "ahead" of schedule because I got a very lucky Toad HR, Toad Body Check, and Toad MVP within the first two innings- that, combined with getting Daisy/Peach Double Play and Peach Big Play gave me confidence to proceed and try and get Toadette and Toadsworth Big Plays in future matches. Overall, a great Mario- missing Daisy 3 Hit then was my only regret.
Yoshi was 4th inning mercy and not for any particularly good reason- my batting was just off. I was able to secure Toadsworth Big Play and Daisy 3 Hit, though, so I made the most of it. Still a highly improvable match.
Note Block took ~1:20 to set up and was 10th try. Really not great, but what can you really say? "Get luckier"? I was just glad to have gotten it done within a reasonable amount of time at all. If a future run gets it faster, awesome.
DK was 3rd inning mercy and did not earn Toadette Big Play, which was unfortunate and suboptimal. Could definitely have gone worse, though.
Wario was 3rd inning mercy and did get Toadette Big Play, albeit in the bottom of the 1st- that meant I could have finished in the 2nd inning if my batting had been better, but there were a few fumbles.
Bowser was a crushing disappointment. In my first go I made numerous input errors on top of not playing very well in general, but I could definitely have salvaged things... until that Bowser solo HR. That's a reset. I decided to give it one more go and I'm glad I did, because the second attempt at Bowser went awesome and demonstrated perfectly how the first attempt should have gone.
