I'm so glad to have finished a pretty good Bowser run! It's not "The Run", not by any stretch, but this was good play and I'm proud of it :) This is especially good practice for All Superstars, where I'm going to really enjoy having a Bowser playthrough this fast IF I can get it...
What went well:
Most matches were solidly above average.
Mario was nearly perfect- 1st inning Mercy and the Mario Strikeout- with the only "time loss" incurred getting Bowser 2 HR and Bowser Jr. back-to-back HRs with Bowser. Those missions, especially Jr.'s, are well worth the extra time it took.
DK and Wario were both pretty speedy 2-inning Mercies. Didn't get a lot of goals done in them (there weren't a lot left to do, actually) but I managed to get Dry Bones Big Play JUST before Wario was done (last at-bat of the match), which made the final game so much more bearable.
7-bomb Bob-Omb Derby, which is the best you can do without also getting lucky.
Bowser Body Check was stressful, as usual, but getting it on the very first at-bat of the All-Star match wasted no time and felt great.
What went wrong:
Peach. Just Peach. A slow, slow match that did not end in Mercy and ALSO did not make forward progress on any notable goals other than Dry Bones 3 Ks and MVP. I really wanted Dry Bones Big Play and Bowser Body Check, and ended up getting neither on top of dragging the match out unnecessarily. I'll be more aggressive next time- as much as I can, while keeping Dry Bones MVP safe.
What went alright but could have gone better:
Yoshi. A 3-inning Mercy is fine, but I let their team onto the bases unnecessarily a lot. Just overall "could have been faster".
At times, including the All-Star match, I did excruciatingly slow-and-safe pitching. It swaps out speed for safety, which I was fine doing just to finish the run. Of course, "The Run" plays riskier and still survives, which I'll probably have to do next time...
I want to finish another Mario run next! I will do it!!
