A PB, but honestly it doesn't feel like much of one. I'm proud of myself for managing to hold things together just enough to reach the finish line but this is not my best effort, not by a long shot. Sub-hour is now inevitable and times as low as sub-50 are theoretically possible. I'll continue with attempts in this category for now, and when I get a better run I'll put more thought into the description. For now, just happy to have reached the credits. :)
This is the first recorded Peach Monarchs run to make use of pre-run RNG manipulation, as opposed to the older method of mid-run RNG manipulation through a save file. This means it's also the first Peach Monarchs run that doesn't save the game- that's something that all 6 captains now have in common! I will likely do an explainer on RNG manipulation and the setups that have been developed for it so far, but if you want to get the Jr. movement and encounter that I got in this run, reset your console (B + X + Start), go into Exhibition Game, call for a random captain 6 times (you should get Jr, Bowser, Jr, Daisy, Daisy, Luigi in that order), and then back out and start your Challenge Mode file. From there, just wait underneath the Toy Field Pipe's spot like I do and Jr. will come straight to you every time. You'll get the better of the 2 batting scenarios (Red Toad starting on second base) and the three rightmost variable blocks (above 2B, over right foul line, and deep center-right field) are all Note Blocks 100% of the time.
I didn't mention it in the video but I almost burst out laughing when the game put Bowser on 2B while I still needed Body Check, replacing a Weight 1 defender with a Weight 4 defender. Thankfully I was able to work around it and crush Dry Bones anyway, but that was so rude...
