My final split in the video was a second late- the correct time is 1:08:16.
Well alright, not bad at all! This is an excellent example of what the perfect Wario Greats run could look like. Most things went as planned and were fast, albeit not as fast as they could have been.
The minigames were all 1st try, but Barrel Batter and Toy Field were a little slower than your average finish (Toy Field had 2 full-count strikeouts and 3 slots). Mario 1 got me a ton of convenient goals but ended up taking 14 minutes- that's longer than it could be. For Mario 2, Peach, DK, and Bowser it's entirely possible to finish those matches with 1-inning mercies, but 2-innings isn't bad and each clocked in at the solid 7.5-9 minute range, which is decent. The Yoshi match, on the other hand, was pretty much perfect, so that's nice.
Petey Body Check and King Boo Home Run were the annoying goals this time, and a better run would have the former done by Peach and the latter done coming out of Mario 2, but I managed to chump my way through Bowser for a solid finish.
This route feels very optimized and at this point I think skill is a more formidable barrier to further improvements than luck. I'll see if I feel up to knocking the time down further. For now, I celebrate!
