Shortly before Independence Day #250 in the United States, Mario Kart World released an update that not only enabled stickers in the Photo Mode (you’ll see a couple of them here), but added in two new Knockout Tours: the Drill Rally and the Boomerang Rally, with six more rallies planned for the future.
Unfortunately, unlike Splatoon’s new content, they’re not prioritized when they debut, meaning you’ll have a 1-in-5 chance of getting either of the new rallies or 1-in-10 for a specific new one, with the odds narrowing with each new one that comes out. I guess no one on the development team thought of it, or they thought it would be a bad idea.
In any case, here is an all-rally video for Mario Kart World. We’ll cover the two new rallies first, then two pre-existing rallies afterwards.

Drill Rally: Wario Shipyard, DK Pass, Dandelion Depths, Mario Circuit, Dry Bones Burnout, Bowser’s Castle

Here is the first of the new rallies, though chronologically, this was the last one I played of the four in this video. To be honest, I hadn’t played this in Mario Grand Prix yet, so this was new to me. I didn’t expect to get all the way to the end, past the Bowser’s Castle checkpoint! Then something happened regarding the physics in this game and collided with the ceiling going up the chain at the start. Ah well. Earlier in the rally, that was also a well-timed Red Shell to strike me when I’m offroad, then a Lightning Bolt while I was still there to get rid of my remaining boosts.

Boomerang Rally: Salty Salty Speedway, Cheep Cheep Falls, Moo Moo Meadows, Choco Mountain, Mario Bros. Circuit, Whistlestop Summit

But that’s not all—this was my first time with the Boomerang Rally, ever. Granted, there were only 8 human controlled racers in this Knockout Tour, including myself, and the AI is on the quieter side compared to actual human players, so the real challenge didn’t really occur until the Mario Bros. Circuit checkpoint…where I was promptly outclassed by everyone else who made it through the Whistlestop Summit checkpoint because most of their VRs were higher than mine. Part of the path from Choco Mountain to Mario Bros. Circuit is the reverse of the path from Mario Bros. Circuit to Choco Mountain in the Golden Rally. The path leading up to the Cheep Cheep Falls checkpoint makes use of the river running by the road; you can use that as an alternate path with fewer people.

Acorn Rally: Toad’s Factory, Wario Stadium, Choco Mountain, Peach Stadium, Cheep Cheep Falls, DK Pass
Character: Dry Bones
I think this is the first time I was able to take 1st place in a Knockout Tour as Dry Bones, meaning he has the crown on as he throws his head up in the air as it flips around. Looks like they were careful not to let the crown clip through his body as he does so. Additionally, I spent much of the final lap in DK Pass with someone ahead of me. I tossed a Green Shell and expected the Banana to block it, but they got hit anyway, as if the Banana was not there. Was it an attack from an angle the Banana doesn’t cover? Or was it lag?

Moon Rally: Bowser’s Castle, Toad’s Factory, Moo Moo Meadows, Dandelion Depths, Cheep Cheep Falls, Faraway Oasis

I was surprised to see how close this Knockout Tour remained even as far in as after the Cheep Cheep Falls checkpoint, as the single Mushroom shortcut I did in the last stretch before the final lap took me from last place to 1st. Granted, I couldn’t keep that 1st place, and I knew I was in peril because of the huge offroad shortcut before the Faraway Oasis checkpoint, but I didn’t expect everyone to stick so close together then. (They didn’t remain that close.)
