As of when this video goes up, the M-B season has begun, with the sub-season M-3 ongoing. New Pokémon has been introduced, new music is available, but oddly, no new clothing except for the season pass’s Canari outfit (which is not worth spending $10 on for me). There were plans for new environments, but we have just the Battle Arena for now. Me, I’m still going through the end of Seasons M-A and M-2, and we have one more video planned until we move to the stuff from M-B/M-3.
Oddly, besides the Pokémon that got new Mega Evolutions, the next most obvious Pokémon to come in, Dondozo (because it was in the preview trailer) and Pawmot (who is in the main menu) are still not here. This is despite Pawmot’s Revival Blessing and Double Shock moves being put into the game.
Here is the wrap-up for the Aurorus Team, including the cutscene with Kajima visiting Cordy’s Gym to congratulate the player for reaching Master Ball Tier twice in two seasons.

No doubt that’s Snow Cloak going on with Glaceon causing all of my attacks targeting it to miss. (And this is not an exaggeration: every attack I had aimed at it has missed, including ones with 100% accuracy.)
I don’t think this is normal for this team, though it is a themed team made up only of Ice-types, which is risky—but they did get to Ultra Ball Tier 2 with it, which is something.

While also not quite themed entirely around it, there is a greater focus on the Fairy-type, with it being on every Pokémon in this team except Altaria, who Mega Evolves into one (but I’m not sure that fully counts; perhaps it does).
I’ve never seen Heat Wave miss both its opponents though. Luck swings one way in one match, then swings the other way in another.

Here is an all-Bug team, which is, if you ask me, just as gutsy as an all-Ice team, but because Bug attacks have so many types that resist it but not much to compensate for that like Grass. Among the 18 types besides Stellar, Bug has the least representation in the Ranked lists.
Vivillon is an annoying Pokémon to deal with due to its near perfect accuracy Sleep Powder. However, both Rock-type moves they used had missed. Such are the issues of physical Rock-type moves (which is most of them).
By the way, my opponent’s name is withheld. This is why it turns up as “Trainer,” and the game refers to the character in sentences as “the Trainer” (which is how you can distinguish that from people who manually name their characters as “Trainer”).

Floette going down on the first turn appears to not be what my opponent had planned. Mega Floette is a huge threat if it is allowed to attack; you can see it used in the North American International Championships to fight even Pokémon with type advantages over it like Corviknight and Archaludon. That’s why this time, that Eternal Flower Floette is a bigger priority to get rid of than Sneasler.

This was the match to claim placement in the Master Ball Tier, and as we both were on a 5-game streak, I think my opponent was also on the cusp. Trick Room Oranguru counters many meta teams, but this is a non-meta team, and under Trick Room, Mudsdale’s 35 Speed just barely out-slows Mega Drampa’s 36 Speed.

He hopes to battle you directly someday; I wonder if that means they want there to be a single-player mode the way the previous official battle simulators have done.
