In 2018, - March For Our Lives - was the organization created by the survivors of the horrific shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida. The goal of the organization was, 'Not One More'. No more school shooting-drills and no more burying loved ones was a big goal.
It's now 2022 and everywhere we look, gun violence is decimating our families and communities. Mass shootings are happening everywhere we live, in shopping malls, concerts, schools, places of worship, at the workplace. According to the statistics, in 2021, over 44-thousand people died in America from gun violence. That amounts to a number, greater than 120 Americans, every, single, day.
Recently, March For Our Lives, rallies were held at over 450 locations in the United States and worldwide. - Brethren Voices - joined with participants at one of the March For Our Lives rallies, to listen to the concerns and fears of adults and children of all ages. We found that children carry their fears with them to school each day. Students have practiced lock-down-drills in case a shooter would come to their school. Some parents of toddlers are fearful of the day when their children become school age. Many folks were attending because they just, simply want, common-sense-gun laws.
