Have you ever seen a white squirrel? They are mainly found in Eastern cities of the United States. Lebanon Valley Brethren Home provides home to the Elusive White Squirrel. That's right, a White Squirrel. The folks at LVBH have named it "SNOBALL".
Lebanon Valley Brethren Home of Palmyra, PA, is one of 22 Church of the Brethren Retirement Homes located in the United States. Like the other Brethren Homes, Lebanon Valley residents are living in all types of wonderful care options,including duplexes, cottages, apartments and nursing care for persons that are in need of extra personal care.
It's a beautiful campus on the edge of wonderful farmland, just a few miles from Hershey, PA.
This Special, hosted by Brent Carlson with "Brethren Voices" cameras, search for this elusive creature during a four-day period at the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home. We did not see him for three days, but on the fourth, bingo, there he was and "Brethren Voices" cameras got a good look at it for those who have not seen a white squirrel. They are really white.
According to Rob Nelson, an ecologist of the University of Hawaii, these white squirrels are a rare version of the eastern grey squirrel. There are a few types of genetic aberrations that cause the white coats. The first is albinism, caused by a mutation on a gene that codes for pigmentation.
