A proper qualified saw doctor is a highly sought after and difficult to learn trade and also a valuable one upon which woodworking industries depend. It should be stated in no uncertain terms that the Hoofbag isn't a saw doctor. However, if a person possesses a saw that doesn't cut very well any more, as a consequence of being blunt, an alternative to throwing it away could be an attempt at sharpening it. The Hoofbag has done this frequently in the past and it does indeed make a huge difference to the cutting ability of an old saw. This method isn't easily possible on those hard point saws that, irrespective of the heat treating, still go blunt after frequent use. The one being sharpened in this upload is cheap: about £3 from B'nQ and, although of low price, has outlasted many others having been purchased in the interim. A blunt saw isn't much use so the handyperson might wish to take a gamble on sharpening so using this process is unlikely to cause any loss or similar.
