A bizarre alleged arson attack in Washington state was caught on camera — with the suspect arriving by golf cart and a dog riding shotgun.
Investigators say a 47-year-old Port Orchard man drove up to a home on a golf cart and used a torch to set the garage on fire while a resident was inside. Within minutes, the garage was engulfed in flames, causing an estimated $175,000 in damage and destroying a $25,000 vehicle. The resident, who did not suffer from any injuries, was unaware of what was happening and had no idea why their home was targeted.
Authorities say a neighbor confronted the suspect, who allegedly claimed he was with the fire department, waved a lit torch at the neighbor and then tried to run him over with the golf cart.
A Washington State Patrol trooper later located the suspect and took him into custody.
