This handsome, compact tome is one of the few monographs on Magnolias to have been published in recent years outside England's shores. Featuring 150-odd varieties suited for use in North American gardens, plus excellent photos and simple instructions on their cultivation, these durable favourites have long deserved a book of their own, and now finally have one.
For those of a more adventurous disposition, "The Timber Press Encyclopedia of Flowering Shrubs", by the same distinguished author, is a comprehensive guide to shrubbery as a whole: 430 pages strong, on glossy paper, in clear detail and superb colour.
