Titled 'Frenetico', as you can very much hear, the final movement of Lyell Cresswell's 'Fogli Rugginosi' (Rusty Sheets) is an intense dash to the end featuring increasingly frantic material from the ensemble - wind quintet with cello and double bass. Remarkably little is known about this gem of a work, but the title is likely a play on words referring to red sheets of fabric, iron sheets, and the music sheets that the musicians read from. Stroma performs in dedication to Lyell Cresswell in the year after his passing away, on our YouTube channel.
