With the state of the world, it is easy to be worried about everything. The changing political environment, war and climate change are just a few issues that induce anxiety in many. ‘Naivety’ draws the audience back to what many will reminisce on as a simpler time, childhood.
Estaella elaborates: “For me, I have many memories of being able to run around, play on the playground and dance around awkwardly with my parents saying I was the next prima ballerina. To sum it up, it was a time when we could have fun without the weight of the world on our shoulders; we were naive to it all. This piece is a play on this idea and my own nostalgia, because even nowadays, you can sometimes be a wee bit silly.”
