Finishing up our series of films from the 2025 Lilburn Trust NZSM Composer Competition is the electronic soundscape, 'Mortality and the Soul'. One of two first-place winning compositions, this piece is an exploration of the formation of life according to Epicurean philosophy.
Composed and performed by Nathan Carter, the work layers different synthesiser sounds generated by the composer, with the final live layer added on top during this performance. Check out the full film on our main channel!
